WEEK 2 - MEDICAL SECTION FYP BRIEFING

Activity : Introduction of FYP Briefing by Medical Section


The second week basically is starting of the FYP 1 briefing. The briefing was conducted online via Microsoft Teams due to the PKP of Covid-19 Pandemic. The attendance of all the medical students that are taking the FYP 1 was compulsory.

The briefing was conducted BY:  DR SHAHRIZALLI

·         DATE                          :  26th July 2020 (Monday)
·         TIME                           :  6:00 till 7:00 pm
·         VENUE                       : Microsoft Teams
·         ATTENDANCE          : Compulsory to all FYP Medical Student

Objective:

  • To inform the requirement of Medical Engineering Technology Section,
  • To share the needs of selecting the right FYP Supervisor,
  • To promote new FYP implementation solving real Industrial problem,
  • To generate list of Industrial FYP co-supervisor from the medical industry

Content:

The briefing is basically about the selection of supervisor. Sir Shah encourage that we find the SV within our course section which is Medical Course. He also told us that every SV has a quota for how many student per supervisor. In this case the SV will only have 10 student under them.

Sir Shah also told us we are required to carefully select the title of the project. For degree students, the title must reflect the capability and knowledge of a degree student. Students may select the titles that are offered by lecturers (FYP supervisors) or come out with own ideas. The Title must be related with medical course.


Conclusion:

The students were required to carefully choose the supervisor that they comfortable working with their SV.. For this year, the supervisor has to be the same section of the student course.

WEEK 5 - ARTICLE RESEARCH ON RELATED TOPIC

For this week, I need to make a lot of research on my project which is Monitoring System of PUI Respiration Rate. The research was include the use of variety sensor in detecting the pressure on the chess wall.  The previous work on method of monitoring without contact with the patients. I also research about the Symptom of Covid-19 and how the symptom effect respiration rate of the Covid-19 Patient. Therefor, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, i need to create a remotely device that can monitor respiration rate of the patient without any contact with them. Beside that the article I research also include the breathing mechanism.

WEEK 6 : (FYP2) DESIGN SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM OF THE CIRCUIT

 For this week, I'm going to design the circuit diagram for my project. This circuit consist of several component including the microcontroller NodeMCU.   So, I'm using the fritzing software to design the circuit diagram on breadboard. I'm using A0 as the Input for the Force Sensitivity Resistor. For LED I'm using the D1 and D3 pin for the output. The push button is use as the external reset button and is connected to the RESET pin. The switch is use to turn on and off the circuit. So how this device work. when we are breathing, there will be a change in resistance with respect to the force of the thoracic. When breathing occurs, there will be increase in the force. This increase in force will reduce the resistance in FSR and this reduction in resistance will allow conductance and this conduction is counted as one breath. This is the process involved in measuring the heart rate.
